Chequita, the Best Blue Velvet Cupcakes owner, was born and raised in Winter Heaven, Florida. She learned how to bake cupcakes from scratch from her grandmother, a fantastic baker, at a young age. After working at Publix bakery for 18 years, she decided to start her own cupcake business from her small apartment kitchen. Her signature moist and melt-in-your-mouth cupcakes had won her a Top 25 People's Choice Award at Dessert Wars Season 7 in Miami. Her story was also featured in The Miami Times and Lakeland Ledger. Customers from all over Florida came to taste the delicate texture of her cupcakes and referred to them as The Best Blue Velvet Cupcakes!
